I love Melissa McCarthy. I was saying to my husband last night that I never look up actors or actresses to see what they are doing – expect for Melissa McCarthy. I think her comedy is spot on and I have never seen any of her movies or performances that I don’t like. She makes me happy, and since this blog is about happiness, I thought I would take a break from talking about ‘how to be happy‘ and just talk about someone who naturally brings happiness to the world.
She has a new movie coming out called Tammy, which is directed by her husband, Ben Falcone. Apparently in the movie she gets fired, finds her husband being romantic with someone else, and eventually ends up on the road with her grandmother (Susan Surandon).
As a side note, I like that Susan Surandon has also been making appearances in Mike And Molly as an alcoholic writer. You can tell that they have on-screen chemistry together, so it kind of makes me want to see the movie even more.
As a side, side note, I can’t believe that Susan Sarandon is 68! Not because that is old (I don’t really think there is an ‘age’ where you get old – it is more of an attitude), but because I remember her in Thelma and Lousie in 1991, and it just seems like yesterday. Time goes by fast.
Here is the trailer for Tammy.
Seriously, this woman has good timing, and her physical comedy is through the roof. Moreover, she can act in serious roles just as well as comedic roles. With talent like that, she is unstoppable.
I would hope that Melissa McCarthy knows that she is making this world a better place. Her talent for comedy makes millions of people laugh, and being able to make someone laugh is something that everyone should strive for and celebrate in themselves.
Laughter does so many good things for the body.
For instance, laughter:
- Reduces stress.
- Strengthens the immune system.
- Releases those feel good endorphins that help us to feel instantly good.
- Increases blood flow and improves function of the blood vessels, which is good for cardiovascular health.
- Lowers blood pressure.
- Reduces or eliminates mental and physical pain.
In short, laughter does a body good, and anyone who can make other people laugh on a consistent basis, as Melissa McCarthy has done, should feel great about their role in making this world a happier and healthier place!
The First Comedy Video I Watched With Melissa McCarthy
But, the first time I really saw how hilarious she could be was when I found her Marbles Harsgrove character. Oh. My. God. She does this character justice, and if you like Melissa McCarthy, you will love this character.
Following are 2 of those videos. I wish she would have done more because seriously…in case I haven’t said it, this makes me laugh.
