It is hard NOT to love Louise Hay quotes because they come from a woman who has empowered thousands upon thousands of people to live a better life.
Louise Hay is the founder of Hay House, a website that I am a part of and check out on an almost daily basis, and the things she has accomplished in her life (and continues to accomplish) is simply amazing. In fact, I just finished reading her book with David Kessler, ‘You Can Heal Your Heart,’ and was amazed at how much insight I gained just from her affirmations.
What a life Louise Hay has, and her quotes deserve to be cherished.
My Favorite Louise Hay Quotes
Of course, pretty much everything she says is enlightening, but there are some of her quotes that stand out for me and help me make my way through the day in a positive and loving manner.
Every thought we think and every word we speak is creating our future. – Louise Hay
I wasn’t aware of this for the longest time, and I can see that many people are still not. But once you really grasp this simple truth it becomes impossible to ignore it.
This is why Louise Hay is the queen of positive affirmations. She has no doubt in her mind that the thoughts we think and the words we speak or creating our lives, and her continued message about that fact is helping people create better lives.
I am very careful about how I think and speak, not only about and to other people, but about and to myself! It is amazing at how negative I can talk to myself in a day if I don’t remember that those negative words (whether said or not) are having an impact on my life.
The universe loves grateful people. The more grateful you are, the more you get to be grateful about. – Louise Hay
I owe my daily practice of gratitude to Louise Hay and Oprah and their strong passion behind how powerful being grateful really is.
Do you practice gratitude on a daily basis?
The truth is that you can’t just practice it once in the morning and once in the evening, because once it becomes a habit in your life, you are hooked and do it every moment of every day that you remember to be grateful.
Being grateful really does give you more things to be grateful about, and it is amazing at how much I appreciate now as opposed to a year ago, or ten years ago. Everything that happens in my day is something to be grateful for, and remembering that you will get more makes it easy to practice gratitude in your daily life.
If you are going to clean the house, you have to see the dirt. – Louise Hay
This quote is one I heard from a video she did with Nick Ortner, the guy who promotes tapping (EFT) through many avenues including his book: The Tapping Solution – A Revolutionary System For Stress-Free Living. (I will post the video below what I have to say in case you want to watch it.)
But, this Louise Hay quote is special to me because it is hard for me to see the dirt sometimes, and that is what keeps me stuck in my career, relationships, and life in general. When I don’t want to admit that something negative is happening – and I try to cover it up with positive affirmations, thoughts, or a smile – things start to suck. That is because ‘the dirt’ is always there and until you clean it up, it will be an issue.
Moving forward requires getting rid of that dirt!
I see life as a boomerang. What you give out comes back to you, and this happens over and over and over again. – Louise Hay
This is such an important thing to remember as you go throughout your day. At least I think it is!
The other day I rejected someone’s request for an article they wanted me to write without given them a reason. I had my own personal reasons, but they were directly about the person who wanted the article from me and instead of telling them off, I chose to say nothing.
Later that day an article I had sent someone got rejected for no particular reason, besides ‘It’s alright.’ Instantly I remembered the above Louise Hay quote and realized that what I had given out had come back to me. The lack of reason made me acutely aware that the boomerang was in full operation, and it reminded me to give out what I wanted to get back.
All is well. – Louise Hay
Probably one of the most famous Louise Hay quotes is this one, and that’s because it is a good one! According to Louise Hay, this affirmation helps you quiet down the inner turmoil long enough so that the universe can find the solution to your problem.
Once you start to realize that everything is working out for your great good, then you can easily say ‘all is well’ and allow yourself to refocus your thoughts and emotions when you feel bad. Then you can get into a more positive frame of mind and listen to the cues that the universe is sending you.
For instance, when I had that article rejected, I had to remember that ‘all is well’. Once I stopped being angry about the rejection, I realized that it was an opportunity to grow and learn…and i was instantly guided to use the article elsewhere for myself.
You are the only person who thinks in your mind! You are the power and authority in your world – Louise Hay
Can I get a ‘HELL YEAH!” It’s so easy to let other people get in our mind and try to dictate which way we will go and how we will go about doing it! In fact, I know many people who are living someone else’s life right now instead of their own.
I am grateful that I understand I have the power to control my happiness, my direction in life, and the life that I create. How awesome is that?
The big thing to remember is that every choice you make is yours. You can’t blame other people for your choices, because you are the only person who has the power to make a choice.
